About the role:

The Release Coordinator supports the coordinated planning, scheduling and deployment of system, application and service releases delivered by Health Technology Services. The role ensures releases are implemented in a controlled and consistent manner to minimise disruption to business operations and maintain service stability.

Working within established change and release management frameworks, the role coordinates release related activities across delivery teams, application support, vendors and business stakeholders. The Release Coordinator supports effective communication, testing, documentation and governance activities to ensure releases are well planned, aligned to operational requirements and supported through implementation.

The role contributes to service reliability, risk management and continuous improvement by maintaining release schedules, coordinating change and testing activities, and supporting adherence to agreed processes and quality standards.

About you:

Can you demonstrate the following?

Supports the development and maintenance of release management guidelines, templates and schedules to ensure system and application releases are delivered consistently and in accordance with agreed frameworks and governance requirements.
Coordinates change, testing and deployment activities required to support releases, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation and approvals are in place.
Acts as a central coordination point for release-related communications with delivery teams, application support, vendors and user groups.
Supports the preparation and distribution of release plans, schedules and communications, and maintains records, minutes and artefacts to support shared understanding and traceability of release activities.
Applies knowledge of the software development lifecycle and release management practices to identify risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
Uses judgement to escalate issues, risks or deviations from agreed processes to the manager, and supports continuous improvement of release and deployment practices within the local work area.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise

Tertiary qualification or relevant study in information technology, information systems, business or a related discipline.
Relevant professional training or certification in change, release or service management (for example, ITIL Foundation or equivalent).
Equivalent professional experience supporting release, change or deployment activities within a structured service delivery environment will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Mandatory:

Demonstrated experience supporting release management activities for ICT systems or applications, including coordination of release schedules, documentation and approvals.
Demonstrated experience supporting change management processes in complex ICT environments, including raising, tracking and progressing change requests in line with agreed governance.
Sound understanding of the software development lifecycle and how release and change activities support safe implementation of system changes.

Desirable:

Experience working in complex or high-availability ICT environments where service stability and controlled change are critical.
Experience using service management or application lifecycle management tools to support release and change activities.

Experience operating within government or other regulated environments, with an understanding of documentation, assurance and escalation requirements.
