About Us

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

We are seeking a Senior Family Violence Program Advisor to play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing service delivery across the statewide family violence practitioner workforce within the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.

In this influential role, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of the Specialist Family Violence Court model, ensuring practice standards, systems, and frameworks are consistent, evidence-informed, and centred on the needs of court users. Working in close partnership with the General Manager, Court Services Quality and Standards, and the broader team, the Senior Family Violence Program Advisor plays a critical role in strengthening and elevating consistent, high-quality service delivery across the statewide family violence practitioner workforce.

This role is central to the ongoing success of the Specialist Family Violence Court model, leading the maintenance, development and continuous improvement of practice standards, operating frameworks, systems, tools, and clear, effective communication approaches.

A key focus is building strong, trusted relationships through active consultation and engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders—including practitioners, courts, partner agencies and lived experience advisors—to enhance safety, strengthen accountability, and deliver improved outcomes for court users.

About You

You will bring:

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as social work, law and experience in working in the family violence context.
Understanding of the nature and dynamics of family violence; Specialist Family Violence Court processes and family violence community resources and services.
Expertise in the principles and practices of project management, and effective change management approaches.
Strong stakeholder and interpersonal skills.
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
