The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.

About the role:

The Senior Policy Adviser, Governance and Insight, will support the development, funding and delivery of key initiatives of the System Access and Reform Branch, whilst building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Specifically, this position will contribute to the development and implementation of the Victorian Integrated Non-Admitted Health (VINAH) dataset improvement strategy.

Demonstrating relevant experience and expertise in tracking key program elements such as funding and delivery, supporting key committees that provide oversight, and ensuring that reporting, and underlying data systems accurately reflect progress, this role will provide the opportunity to ensure program objectives are delivered in a timely manner.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will be a high performing team member with strong analytical, written problem solving, project management and communication skills. You may offer specialist skills in either health systems, analytics, government processes, stakeholder consultation, policy design, or program implementation. You will work closely with team members and other partners to define problems, analyse qualitative and quantitative inputs, consult stakeholders, and develop options and creative, implementable solutions. You are diligent and comfortable working on complex issues and building positive relationships with stakeholders.

Knowledge and experience in government, health sector and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in policy development and implementation.
A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, public policy, data analytics or health administration would be desirable.
