We are seeking an Intermediate Legal Assistant to support a Partner and their team of lawyers within our highly regarded Banking & Finance practice in Melbourne.

This is an opportunity to work closely with a high‑performing team in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, where your organisational skills and proactive approach will be highly valued.

You will work closely with a partner and their team to provide administrative support including:

Liaising with clients and key internal and external stakeholders, including clear and professional written communication with clients
File management and matter administration
Matter opening and onboarding, including understanding and applying client requirements using the Client Resource Database
Managing calendars and coordinating meetings
Conducting InfoTrack searches, including ASIC, PPSR, Title & Statutory Searches and Security Trust Deeds
Billing, time coding and reporting, including advanced billing with specific client requirements
Assisting with events and business development activities

Required skills and personal attributes:

Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to work with minimal direction, demonstrating the confidence, judgement and initiative to manage tasks independently
Strong understanding of client requirements relating to matter opening and billing, including use of the Client Resource Database
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Advanced knowledge of CMS/Aderant or other finance‑related software
Ability to develop and foster strong professional relationships internally and with clients
