Join Wotton Kearney's Finance team in this newly created Accounting Officer role, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a growing national business. Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance team, you'll play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, processing transactions accurately, supporting accounts payable activities, and ensuring the smooth running of finance operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in accounts payable, finance administration or a similar role who enjoys being hands-on, detail-oriented and part of a collaborative team. You'll gain exposure across a broad range of finance activities while building your skills within a supportive and flexible professional services environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review employee expense claims, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with internal policies.
- Verify and maintain supplier banking details in line with internal controls and approval requirements.
- Monitor and respond to finance and accounts payable queries, escalating matters where required.
- Assist with accounts payable processing, supplier administration and finance record maintenance
- Prepare journals, cashflow updates and banking documentation to support daily finance operations.
- Support month-end, year-end and audit activities through accurate reporting and documentation preparation.
- Maintain accurate finance records and ensure documentation is organised and compliant with internal procedures.
- Contribute to process improvements and support the wider Finance team on ad hoc projects and initiatives
About You:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Officer, Finance Administration or similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with finance or practice management systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
- A collaborative mindset, strong integrity and a commitment to maintaining financial controls and confidentiality.
