Full Job Description

We're a growing public practice located 2 minutes from Rockdale station. Here, your work is noticed, your ideas are heard, and your career can grow as fast as you want it to.

We're looking for an Accountant with 4+ years in Australian public practice who wants to own their client portfolio, mentor junior staff, and have a real say in how we operate.

What you'll actually do:

Prepare financial statements and tax returns for a diverse portfolio (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs)
Manage BAS, IAS, and compliance obligations end-to-end
Use HandiLedger, HandiTax, Xero, and MYOB to deliver efficient, accurate work
Be the primary client contact for advice and queries—building relationships that last
Review and mentor junior team members, helping them grow
Contribute to the firm's continuous improvement—we value your input

What you'll bring:

4+ years in an Australian public practice (essential).
Strong HandiLedger & HandiTax experience (essential—we use these daily).
Practical experience with SMSF compliance.
Xero & MYOB proficiency (2+ years practical experience).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Experience with GST and margin scheme (preferred but not essential).
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation legislation, and financial reporting requirements.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional team environment.
