The Collective Initiative is a Registered Not for Profit Organisation. One of our missions focuses on Supporting Children and Youth at risk of homelessness by offering transitional housing, skill building programs and pathways to independence.

About the role

As a Youth Worker, your priority is to ensure in the safety and well being of all children in our care, focusing on a tailored approach and always with a trauma informed lens. Your role may includes:

supporting children and young people who may have significant challenges, Complex Trauma and are involved in the Child Protection and/or out of home care system.
working along with families to support and implement routine and structure, whilst upskilling within the home to support family preservation.
providing Supervised Contact Visits, in home supports, Respite, Transport, Mentoring and Crisis Accommodation to those at risk of homelessness.

About You

Experience in engaging and building trust with young people from diverse background
Previous experience in trauma informed practice will be highly regarded
Sound knowledge of services to youth
Ethical approach, you act with integrity and compassion to support and empower young people in meaningful ways.
Verbal skills and writing skills (for mandatory reports) are required
Legal right to work in Australia
Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle comprehensively insured
Working with Children Check
National Police Check issued within the last 6 months

Important Information

Interviews will be conducted inbetween the 23rd of June and the 1st of July.
Interviews will be conducted face to face in Brisbane.
