Full Job Description

Caulfield Family Medical Practice is a well-established family general practice with 3 GPs, 2 nurses, an Optometrist, a Podiatrist and 2 receptionists.

We are seeking an experienced part time Medical Receptionist 1-2 regular weekdays and increasing to cover a receptionist on leave.

Key Responsibilities

To provide a high quality point of contact for all patients and customers
To provide full administration and support services to all medical and allied health practitioners
Ensure all patients and visitors are received in a friendly, prompt and helpful manner, either face to face or over the phone
Maintain a high level of accuracy when recording and maintaining patient, clinic and service information
Maintain confidentiality of patient and practice information
Ensure that medical or other billing is carried out correctly including batching and transmission for Medicare, Department of Veteran Affairs, Immunisation uploads on a daily basis

Preferred Criteria

Previous relevant Medical Reception experience
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate level computer literacy
Ability to provide effective customer service in a professional manner
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Efficient organisational skills and the capacity to take initiative, to follow instructions
Knowledge of medical terminology and health systems (e.g. Medicare) is highly desirable
Knowledge of Pracnet or similar Practice Management System for taking appointments and billing
