Yard Hand / Forklift Driver – Recycling Facility

Full-Time | Fast-Paced & Robust Environment | Opportunities to Upskill

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Yard Hand / Forklift Driver to join our recycling team. This is a hands-on role in a busy, high-volume yard where no two days are the same. The ideal candidate will have strong forklift operating skills, a great work ethic, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the yard, including sorting materials, operating machinery, loading/unloading vehicles, and keeping the site clean and organised. This role requires someone who is confident working outdoors and performing manual tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, stack, and move materials
Sort and process recyclable materials (metals, cardboard, plastics, etc.)
Assist with general yard duties, manual handling, and housekeeping
Perform basic maintenance and safety checks on machinery and equipment
Follow WHS procedures and maintain a safe working environment
Work collaboratively with the yard team and communicate effectively
Provide support during peak periods and adapt to changing priorities

Skills & Experience

Current forklift licence (highly desirable)
Experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in waste, recycling, construction, or yard work highly regarded
Strong awareness of safety requirements
Ability to handle heavy materials and work in all weather conditions
Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
