About the Role:

Join a busy, supportive and high-performing communications team working across one of the largest health districts in NSW. We’re looking for a proactive Communications Officer who enjoys fast-paced work and is keen to build a strong foundation across media, digital and internal communications. This is a true generalist role, offering exposure to a wide range of work while developing your skills in content creation and digital publishing.

You will support the planning, creation and delivery of content across the District’s website, employee intranet and social media channels. This includes writing, editing and publishing content in content management systems, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, engaging and aligned with NSW Health and District requirements. You’ll also contribute to social media activity, content updates and broader communications projects, building your capability across the full communications function. Experience in writing, digital content development, content management systems and social media is highly desirable. An interest in analytics, optimisation and digital best practice will be highly regarded.

About the Team:

You’ll join the Strategic Relations and Communications team, which supports Hunter New England Local Health District across day-to-day communications, major projects, media engagement and issue management. As part of this collaborative and high-performing team, you’ll work on a wide range of diverse, high-profile and meaningful initiatives across one of the largest health districts in NSW. The team is supportive, dynamic and backs each other in to deliver work that makes a genuine impact across the District.

About You:

You are an enthusiastic and adaptable communications professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging content across a range of platforms, including web, intranet and social media. You’re comfortable working with content management systems and digital tools, and understand how to tailor content for different audiences and channels. You approach your work with a positive, proactive mindset and are keen to keep building your skills. You take initiative, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team culture. You build strong working relationships and are comfortable supporting and guiding staff to help them manage and improve their content.
