Customer Technical Service & Internal Sales

Taren Point, NSW

About the Role

Our client is seeking a technically minded Customer Service with Internal Sales skills to join our busy Taren Point team.

This is a hands-on role combining customer service, internal sales, product support, quoting, order processing and warehouse coordination.

You’ll work closely with customers, Sales Representatives, warehouse staff, product managers, engineers and international suppliers to ensure orders, quotes and enquiries are managed accurately and efficiently.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, understanding technical products, working with numbers and solving problems.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional customer service by phone and email
Process and manage customer orders accurately
Prepare quotations and follow up outstanding quotes
Support Sales Representatives with pricing, quotes and customer enquiries
Provide product information, pricing, stock availability and delivery updates
Identify suitable products based on customer requirements and technical specifications
Recommend alternative or equivalent products where required
Read and interpret product specifications, drawings and technical information
Calculate pricing, margins and profitability
Work with exchange rates and international pricing
Manage special pricing and product arrangements
Coordinate orders and picking requirements with the warehouse
Create picking slips, invoices and other sales documentation
Follow up deliveries and resolve freight or supply issues
Maintain accurate customer records and system data
Liaise with overseas suppliers and internal departments
Assist with tenders, contracts and major customer requirements
Ensure customer enquiries and orders are handled accurately and within required timeframes

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Experienced in customer service, internal sales or sales support
Technically minded and comfortable learning technical products
Confident dealing with customers and Sales Representatives
Strong with numbers, pricing and calculations
Comfortable working with exchange rates and margins
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Fast and accurate with data entry and computer systems
A strong problem solver who can think logically
Able to interpret technical information and product specifications
Confident using Microsoft Office and general business systems
Professional, friendly and confident in communication
Able to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
A team player who can coordinate effectively with sales, warehouse and other departments

Experience with electrical, data, cabling, industrial or other technical products will be highly regarded.

A current driver's licence and ability to drive is required.
