Deliver excellence in customer service and provide efficient administrative support to Students and Staff across the University

Minimum 3 days per week availability req uired , with full-t im e avai lab ility advanta geous

3 we eks paid training, full time at Camperdown campus , expec ted to commence e arly Oc tober

Hours will be available between 7am – 7pm Monday to Frida y
HEO 4 Step 1 - $5 9 . 13 per hour + super

About the opportunity

The Student Centre team support all enquiries to the University of Sydney via a face-to-face counter service, phones, and online customer service channels. They provide customer service, information, advice and referral about a broad range of matters relating to a student’s time at university. This includes course options and admissions, student cards, fees, enrolment, timetables, examinations, special consideration, study abroad and exchange, and graduation.

This role is strictly a campus-based position, working entirely on-site. Please note that team members may be required to travel across Sydney campuses and potentially the wider region to support operational needs, including but not limited to Camperdown, Darlington, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Parramatta, and Westmead campuses . In addition, a vailability to work through the University’s seasonal period is essential to ensure continuity of service for our student community

This role will require you to:

provide accurate and consistent information within established service and performance parameters to students, internal and external stakeholders who contact the Student Centre

respond to and resolve enquiries in an informative, accurate and timely manner; ensuring key details are recorded in an enquiry management system for each interaction

triage enquiries accurately and in accordance with established business practice guidelines to include the effective assessment, diagnosis, prioritisation and internal escalation of more complex cases to a senior staff person for appropriate referral of issues to higher level support and advice

exercise a degree of initiative, sensitivity, and sound judgement in compliance with the University’s privacy policy, legislative obligations, and operating guidelines to resolve problems and manage complaints

must be available to attend an in-person Assessment Centre on campus on Friday 1 8 th September to be eligible for this role

compulsory on-campus training required for 3 weeks Mon-Fri full time from early October

student Centre staff are required to work onsite unless otherwise specified

must be available to work over the U niver sity seasonal break from December 18th – January 5 th 202 7 ( excluding public holidays)

experience working in a high volume, fast paced, customer centric environment

customer service experience highly desirable

strong organization and time management skills

excellent high-level communication skills - including verbal and written, and can make the complex simple in your daily interactions

fast learning and willing to take on new challenges in an agile work environment

strong computer skills and literacy, including Microsoft Office

touch typing highly regarded

current students, returning parents, recent graduates and working holiday visa holders will be considered for this position and are encouraged to apply.
