We are seeking motivated Supervisors and Assistant Unit Managers who are ready to grow their leadership capability and build the confidence, commercial understanding, and operational ownership required to step into a future Unit Manager role. This structured development opportunity is designed to support high-potential leaders through a blend of practical site-based learning, guided coaching, and formal leadership development. The program focuses on building the capability shift from day-to-day supervision into broader Unit Manager accountability
As a Unit Manager in Training, you will be supported through a readiness-based development pathway tailored to your current experience, demonstrated capability, and future potential. The program may run across an accelerated, standard, or extended pathway depending on your readiness and development needs.
You will gain hands-on exposure across key areas of site leadership, including workforce management, safety and compliance, client interaction, service delivery, commercial drivers, team engagement, and operational planning
- Leading team briefs, safety huddles, service checks, and minor escalations.
- Supporting rosters, light performance matters, stock control, retail execution, and waste reporting.
- Participating in audits, investigations, compliance checks, and reporting activities.
- Shadowing Unit Managers in client, financial, and workforce forums.
- Supporting service reviews, reporting cycles, coaching activities, and leadership development interactions.
- Completing formal learning through LEAD, Leadership in Action, Stepping Up, Inspire to Grow, Compass systems training, Respectful Behaviours, and compliance modules
Throughout the program, you will develop the key capabilities required to successfully transition into a Unit Manager role. This includes strengthening your communication skills through proactive updates, effective handovers, meaningful feedback, and client interactions. You will learn how to drive team engagement by fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting onboarding activities, coaching team members, and recognising individual contributions. The program will also focus on building high-performing teams through effective delegation, workforce planning, performance management, and team development.
You will enhance your customer focus by taking ownership of service delivery, managing complaints, conducting service reviews, and supporting client needs. In addition, you will develop accountability across safety, compliance, audits, investigations, systems, and documentation while gaining exposure to commercial and operational drivers such as ordering, stock control, labour planning, waste management, workflow optimisation, and financial performance reviews.
The Person
You may currently be a supervisor or Assistant Unit Manager who has been identified as a potential future Unit Manager within a 6–18-month timeframe.
- Experience leading teams in a site, village, hospitality, retail, facilities, or operational environment.
- A strong focus on safety, service delivery, compliance, and team engagement.
- The ability to take ownership, seek feedback, and apply learnings in a practical operational setting.
- Confidence to support performance conversations, rostering, service delivery, and basic commercial activities.
- A genuine interest in stepping into broader leadership accountability.
- Full Medical and Drug & Alcohol
- National Police Clearance may be required (within 6 months)
- Multiple rosters whilst in your development phase
