Full Job Description

We are a well-established and growing accounting practice located in the heart of Adelaide CBD. We provide comprehensive accounting, taxation, and business advisory services to a diverse range of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as individual clients. Our firm is committed to delivering proactive, high-quality professional services and building long-term relationships with our clients.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Accountant to join our professional team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad client base while contributing to the delivery of high-quality accounting and taxation services.

Key responsibilities include

Managing end-to-end accounting for a portfolio of business and individual clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Preparing statutory financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other management reports.
Examining accounting records, financial statements, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Preparing and reviewing Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST returns, payroll tax returns, and other statutory reports.
Performing reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to maintain data integrity.
Analysing financial information and identifying trends, risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for business improvement.
Assisting clients with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial performance analysis.
Maintaining and improving accounting systems, financial processes, and internal controls to support effective financial management.
Liaising with clients, the Australian Taxation Office, and other regulatory authorities regarding accounting matters.
Assisting with audits, reviews, and compliance activities as required.

Ideal candidate for this role

Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or related field
At least one year of relevant accounting experience
Experience in Xero, MYOB, Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent communication skills for dealing with clients
Self-motivated and team player
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
Multi-lingual in Chinese/English is desirable
