About the role
Our Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a growing, global SaaS business, working closely with the Director of Finance across reporting, compliance, and commercial finance activities. The role offers strong exposure to strategic and operational finance, while partnering with external advisors across more complex areas.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Build annual budgets and ongoing forecasts
- Support and review month-end processes and reporting prepared by the Management Accountant
- Responsible for preparation and audit of IFRS compliant consolidated reporting
- Manage cash flow across the Fivecast group
- Directly manage the Finance Officer, who is responsible for delivering accounts payable/receivable and payroll across Fivecast group businesses
- Support financial modelling and scenario analysis to inform growth and funding decisions
- Assist with preparation of income tax statements and coordinate tax lodgements with external advisors (Australia, US, and Europe)
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial, tax, and regulatory requirements across new and existing jurisdictions
- Maintain transfer pricing policy with assistance from external advisors
- Implement, calculate and report on sales incentive and bonus schemes
Operations, Compliance & Governance
- Prepare R&D Tax Incentive applications and support associated documentation
- Support future grant applications and ongoing reporting requirements
- Maintain the Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP) and grant allocations
- Review and coordinate renewal of company insurance policies
Team Management
- Manage the Management Accountant and Finance Officer, including day-to-day oversight of workload and priorities
- Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews, providing clear feedback and direction
- Support the development and capability uplift of the team
Skills & Experience
- CA or CPA qualified, with relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience as a Financial Controller or strong experience as either a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting, tax, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with external advisors (tax, audit, legal), ideally across multiple jurisdictions
- Commercial mindset, with the ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills, with experience in financial systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, with confidence to provide clear and pragmatic advice
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across finance, operations, and leadership teams
