Full Job Description

$75,000–$90,000 + Super + Uncapped Commission | $130K–$180K+ OTE

Ador Energy is expanding its residential and commercial renewable-energy division and is looking for an experienced Solar & Battery Sales Consultant to join our team.

This isn't a pure residential solar sales role.

We're building a sales team capable of working across residential solar and battery storage through to commercial solar and commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

With significant changes occurring across Australia's solar and battery incentive landscape, we're looking for someone who understands the industry, can educate customers properly and knows how to convert qualified opportunities into profitable projects.

The Opportunity

You'll work across three major areas of our business:

Residential Solar & Battery

Work with homeowners considering solar, battery storage and combined solar-and-battery solutions, including customers investigating available government incentive and financing programs such as the NSW Home Energy Saver program.

Commercial Solar

Work with commercial and industrial customers assessing solar projects, including opportunities arising from the expansion of the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) to eligible larger commercial solar systems.

Commercial Battery / BESS

Work with commercial and industrial businesses investigating battery storage, including projects potentially eligible under NSW commercial battery incentive programs.

You'll be supported by Ador Energy's growing marketing and lead-acquisition engine across Google, SEO, social media, LinkedIn, direct outreach and industry partnerships.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to signed contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

Contacting and qualifying residential and commercial leads;
Conducting customer consultations;
Understanding electricity consumption, customer requirements and project objectives;
Reviewing electricity bills and relevant customer information;
Working with our technical team to develop appropriate solar and battery solutions;
Preparing and presenting proposals;
Explaining applicable solar and battery incentives accurately;
Managing residential solar and battery opportunities;
Managing commercial solar opportunities;
Developing and managing commercial BESS opportunities;
Conducting site meetings where required;
Maintaining consistent customer follow-up;
Managing your complete sales pipeline through our CRM;
Progressing opportunities from lead → assessment → proposal → contract;
Developing relationships with commercial customers;
Conducting targeted outbound business development where appropriate;
Maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the sales process; and
Consistently achieving agreed sales and revenue targets.

Who We're Looking For

We're predominantly looking for someone with existing solar and/or battery sales experience.

Ideally, you'll have experience in some combination of:

Residential solar sales;
Residential battery sales;
Commercial solar;
Commercial battery/BESS;
Renewable-energy sales;
High-value consultative sales;
Commercial business development;
Solar incentives and STCs/SRES;
Electricity bills and energy consumption;
CRM-based pipeline management; and
Closing high-value opportunities.

Experience with current and upcoming incentive programs—including residential energy programs, commercial SRES and commercial battery/BESS incentives—is highly regarded.

However, we're more interested in someone who understands how to sell renewable-energy solutions properly than someone who has simply worked in a high-volume solar call centre.

You'll Be a Strong Fit If You

Have a proven sales track record;
Can confidently close residential customers;
Are comfortable speaking with business owners, directors and commercial decision-makers;
Understand that commercial energy sales require more consultation than residential sales;
Can manage a longer commercial sales cycle;
Are disciplined with follow-up;
Keep your CRM pipeline accurate;
Can explain technical concepts in straightforward commercial language;
Are comfortable working toward ambitious targets;
Take ownership of opportunities rather than waiting to be chased; and
Care about selling the right solution rather than simply making the fastest sale.

Base salary: $75,000–$90,000 + super, depending on experience.

Uncapped commission.

Indicative OTE of $130,000–$180,000+, with significantly higher earning potential for exceptional performers and salespeople capable of originating and closing substantial commercial projects.
