Full Job Description

As our Maintenance Officer at Parkland Villas Ellenbrook, you will play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and beautifully maintained community where residents can continue to enjoy the lifestyle they love.

Located in the heart of Ellenbrook, Parkland Villas is a vibrant retirement living community surrounded by landscaped gardens and close to local shops, transport and community amenities. Home to an active and connected resident community, the village offers a welcoming environment where people enjoy maintaining their independence while building meaningful social connections.

You will make a genuine difference in the daily lives of older Australians by helping ensure their community remains safe, comfortable and enjoyable.

About the Role

As Maintenance Officer, you will help keep the village safe, welcoming and well maintained for residents, staff, visitors and contractors. You will carry out general maintenance and repairs across buildings, fixtures, fittings, facilities, gardens and shared spaces in line with the Village Maintenance Plan and BaptistCare procedures.

This is a varied role where no two days will look the same. You may be supporting with tasks such as general repairs, minor painting, lighting maintenance, hanging items, clearing gutters, rubbish disposal, basic plumbing tasks, furniture movement, checking equipment, basic grounds or facility cleaning and upkeep, and responding to maintenance requests from residents and the Village Manager.

You will play an important part in helping residents feel safe, respected and supported in their home environment, while ensuring maintenance activity is completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption. In this highly visible part time ( 20 hours/week) role, you will regularly interact with residents and become a valued part of the village community.

About You:

You will be someone who takes pride in practical work, notices what needs attention, and enjoys being part of a friendly village community. You bring a calm, helpful and respectful approach, with the confidence to work independently while also knowing when to escalate maintenance issues or seek support.

You will ideally bring:

Previous experience in maintenance, handyperson, property, facilities or trade-related work
A broad range of practical maintenance and repair skills
Strong customer service skills and a respectful approach with older people
Good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
A safety focused mindset and commitment to WHS practices
The physical capacity to undertake hands on maintenance duties
A current Australian driver’s licence
First Aid, AED or relevant trade qualifications will be highly regarded
