Chef de Partie – The Last Piece | Mulgrave, VIC

The Last Piece is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie to join our growing kitchen team in Mulgrave.

We are a busy café and restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions, and catering. We take pride in producing high-quality food using fresh seasonal ingredients while maintaining exceptional service standards.

About the Role

As a Chef de Partie, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to ensure every dish meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with our recipes and standards.
Manage your assigned section efficiently during service.
Assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions, and catering.
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with HACCP standards.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
Minimise food waste and ensure portion control.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver excellent service during busy periods.
Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when required.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Commis Chef ready to step up.
Strong knowledge of modern Australian café and restaurant cuisine.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Passion for quality food and attention to detail.
Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
