TANDOORI and Curry chef
We are Indian/Pakistani restaurant located in the famous Bankstown suburb in Sydney. We are seeking an experienced Tandoori and curry chef, who can join our team, and can speak multi-languages like Hindi, Urdu, and English.
With a focus on growing our team, we are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, creative people, always looking for ways to improve the customer experience and satisfaction.

The successful candidate should be available to start immediately including weekend. We do serve breakfast in weekend, so successful candidate should available for the breakfast service.
To be successful in the role you should:
- Cooking food for Function Centre, Outdoor Catering and Buffet.
- Regulating temperatures of tandoor from low, medium and hot for naans.
- Be able to make naan dough with good moisture.
- Preparing ingredients and cooking sauces/curries as well as biryani.
- Have knowledge of Menu planning and ingredients.
- Ensure food safety and maintains hygiene’s.
- Have the experience and capacity to train new cooks and kitchen staffs.
- Have minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant proven experience.
- Relevant qualifications (Diploma of hospitality).
- Full time work rights (Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred).
- Good communication skills.
- Be fast and efficient, be able work in a pressure environment.
- Able to lead a team as well as work independently.

Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Examining food stuff to ensure quality regulating temperatures of ovens and other cooking equipment
- Preparing and cooking food seasoning food during cooking portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements may plan menus and estimate food requirements & bull; Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.
- Carve and trim meats such as beef, Chicken, and lamb
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
- May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role, qualifications would also be highly regarded,
- Knowledge of ingredients and cooking techniques
- An ability to motivate and work as a team & bull; An excellent cook who is efficient and clean
- Must be able to work on rotating roster as well as work on weekends and on public holidays
- A high attention to detail, initiative to get job done and desire to learn more and grow with a business
- Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs. Your salary would be based on your experience and
- Cooking all meals in relation to your section which may include meat, seafoods, poultry and vegetables.
- Checking the cleanliness and operation of equipment and premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Be involved with menu planning sessions, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Monitoring quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Preparing food and cooking using tandoor and different equipment.
- Portioning food, placing it in dishes, and adding gravies, sauces, dessert and garnishes.
- Be able to organise buffet and function.
