The Opportunity:

1 x Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment.
1 x Full-Time | 12-month fixed term.
PW8 $111,237 - $121,174 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Chadstone Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

The People Experience (PEX) department supports Holmesglen to achieve its strategic objectives by building the capability and capacity of its people. The team helps identify and address internal and external challenges to develop a sustainable, resilient, and capable workforce. It delivers a broad range of HR services including strategic planning, diversity, equity and inclusion, capability development, occupational health and safety, workforce planning, talent acquisition, engagement, performance management, and employee relations.

The team is committed to professional excellence and integrity in delivering contemporary HR services to staff, the Institute, and the broader community. It includes specialists in talent acquisition, HR management, organisational development, diversity and equity, workplace relations, health, safety and wellbeing, and employee advice and entitlements.

The Senior Workplace Relations Advisor supports Holmesglen’s strategic people priorities by providing expert advice and case management across workplace relations, employee conduct, performance, industrial matters, and organisational change. This role strengthens leader capability, ensures legislative and industrial compliance, and contributes to a positive, safe, and respectful workplace culture aligned with Holmesglen’s ASPIRE values.

As a Senior Workplace Relations Advisor, you will:

Provide expert advice and guidance on workplace relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances, conflict resolution, and organisational change, ensuring compliance with legislation, industrial instruments, and organisational policy.
Lead and manage complex workplace relations cases end-to-end, including workplace investigations where required, ensuring procedural fairness, risk mitigation, and high-quality case management outcomes.
Support and build the capability of leaders and People Experience colleagues through coaching, training, and practical resources to strengthen contemporary workplace relations practice.
Interpret and apply relevant industrial instruments, including the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement and Victorian TAFE Multi Employer PACCT Agreement, to ensure consistent and compliant decision-making.
Contribute to organisational change processes and continuous improvement of workplace relations frameworks, while preparing high-quality documentation and maintaining accurate, confidential records.

To be successful, you’ll have:

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field.
Extensive experience in workplace or industrial relations within a complex organisation, including managing performance, conduct, grievance, disciplinary, and organisational change matters.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and contemporary workplace relations practice.
Demonstrated experience in advising leaders and building capability through coaching, training, and practical guidance.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and deliver clear, practical, and outcome-focused advice.

WWCC and Police Check:

Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
