Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Taxation Accountant to manage taxation and compliance services, maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and assist clients with Australian tax obligations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting individuals and businesses with taxation and financial matters.

This role offers flexibility to work from home depending on the candidate’s experience, performance, and business needs. Bilingual communication skills in Portuguese and English are highly regarded, as we support a diverse multicultural client base.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and lodge individual and business tax returns
Lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
Assist clients with taxation compliance and ATO obligations
Review financial records and prepare taxation documentation
Manage general ledger entries and reconcile bank statements
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
Assist with bookkeeping, GST and payroll-related matters
Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with ATO requirements
Liaise with clients and government bodies as required
Support month-end and year-end financial processes

Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field (required)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in Australia or overseas
Strong working knowledge of Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or other accounting software
Understanding of Australian taxation laws, GST and payroll obligations
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional membership (CPA, IPA or CA) desirable but not essential

Work Conditions

Full-time position (38 hours per week)
