About the role
We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to provide essential financial administration and bookkeeping services to our growing business based in Hope Island, QLD 4212. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the overall financial health of our organisation. Your meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills will ensure our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Recording and processing financial transactions, including invoices, receipts and bank statements
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts
- Reconciling bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Preparing financial reports and statements for management review
- Processing payroll information and supporting payroll administration
- Organising and filing financial documents in accordance with company procedures
- Assisting with tax preparation and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial administration role
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles and practices
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with high accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts and financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Preferably, familiarity with retail or small business accounting environments
- Australian Tax Office (ATO) compliance knowledge is desirable
