Full Job Description

Location: Boodjamiyalup – East Perth WA

Hourly rate starting: $36.42 (plus Super plus NFP Salary Packaging)

genU is looking for Overnight Sleep - Support Worker who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement.

The Employer considers that being female is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 27 (2), (c), (e) and (g) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.

This is an overnight roving roster of 5 shifts @ 45.25 hrs per fortnight. The successful candidate will be flexible with days and will work across multiple services in our East Metro region. Please review the roster included before applying.

What you’ll do

Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;
Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

Experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
Experience working with challenging behaviours
An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;
Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;
Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;
Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties experience;
Cert III in Disability, Individual Support or higher (or working towards one) is desirable;
A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
