Full Job Description

Introduction:
We are seeking multiple Maintenance Fitters to support the safe and reliable operation of the Monbeef processing facility. These hands‑on roles focus on breakdown response, fault‑finding, and preventative maintenance across plant and equipment. You’ll work within established maintenance systems where safety, uptime, and workmanship are key priorities. These roles offer stability and consistent work for trade‑qualified fitters.

Description:
Your new day-to-day:

Respond quickly and effectively to mechanical breakdowns across plant equipment
Carry out preventative maintenance activities as part of the site maintenance program
Apply strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills to minimise equipment downtime
Complete maintenance tasks accurately and record all work in MaintainX
Work constructively and cooperatively within the maintenance team
Liaise with other departments and contractors as required to complete works
Maintain a consistent focus on safety in all maintenance activities

Skills and Experiences:
What you'll need:

A current trade qualification (Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade)
Proven ability to fault‑find, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues
Practical understanding of plant, equipment, and production environments
A strong commitment to safety, procedures, and quality standards
Reliability, accountability, and the ability to work effectively within a team
Experience in food processing or manufacturing environments (highly regarded)

Shift Times:
We're looking for team to support both morning and evening shifts (times below):

Morning: 6am to 2pm
Evening: 3pm to 11pm

Monbeef is part of Bindaree Food Group’s paddock‑to‑plate beef business, processing quality beef from south‑eastern Australia for customers across the country and overseas. The Cooma facility is a modern, hot‑boning, halal‑certified plant that produces beef meat and offal for both domestic and export markets.

Cooma sits at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, offering a relaxed country lifestyle with easy access to shops, schools, health services and outdoor activities like fishing, bushwalking and snow trips, all within reach of Canberra.
