Attention Plant (and Dog) Lovers!

Little Paws Playcare and The Bondi Plant Company are two businesses run under the one roof (we love dogs and plants!). Our shop front comprises an indoor plant nursery and boutique dog retail products. Make your way to the back and you will find our dog daycare!

Little Paws Playcare is a dog daycare for small breeds under 15kg. Services provided include on-site only daycare, pick-up/drop-off service, overnight boarding and a wash/dry service (no professional grooming required).

The Bondi Plant Company boasts a variety of indoor plants and plant-themed gifts. Services provided include re-pottings and plant delivery (as well as day to day watering/plant care).

We are an LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse friendly workplace.

About the Role

We are looking for a superstar dog daycare attendant who will also be able to make retail sales (while caring for plants and maintaining them) in the shop front as needed.

We are open 7am-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm on weekends. We have morning, day and afternoon shifts available as well as overnight dog-sitting. You must have a love for all dogs as well as prior experience with groups of dogs. You will also need to be able to drive an automatic car/caddy van for dog pick ups and drop offs or plant deliveries.

Basic knowledge of houseplants would be advantageous but training will be provided.

Superannuation paid on top of hourly rate.

Responsibilities include:

Accountability and care of up to ten small dogs on site
Pick up/drop off dogs before and after daycare in the company car or caddy van
Provide a safe, fun and enriching experience for every dog
Learn to conduct behavioural trials for new dogs
Sale of dog retail products and plants
Use of online booking system and POS including payment processing
Manage check-ins and check-outs for daycare and boarding
Handle phone calls and messages for bookings, responding to inquiries promptly.
Updating social media throughout the day with photos and videos of the daycare dogs

Job Requirements:

Confidence and experience handling groups of dogs of all breeds and ages
Outstanding customer service skills, ensuring to go above and beyond for all clients
Strong time management ability and ability to work under pressure
Current drivers licence
Current ABN
Permitted to work in Australia without restriction

Flexibility with time availability and interest in overnight dog-sitting would be highly advantageous.

References & Background Check:

A detailed background check, including references, will be conducted on the successful candidate
You’ll need to be able to provide the contact details of two referees who can provide evidence of your reliability, ability and willingness to work

Job Types: Subcontract, Freelance

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
