About the role

The Senior Asset Coordinator will work closely the Financial Controller, and the Asset Managers across the organisation.

The role requires an advanced level of financial acumen and a strong understanding of asset management planning/infrastructure asset design and lifecycles. Experience within accounting and engineering is highly desired.

In this role you will:

Coordinate the development, review and continuous improvement of Council's Asset Management Plans, policies and long-term asset strategies aligned with Council priorities.
Partner with Asset Custodians, Service Managers and stakeholders across the organisation to provide guidance, advice and support on asset management planning and best practice.
Support the accounting, capitalisation, depreciation, disposal and revaluation of Council assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements.
Provide specialist financial and asset management advice to support informed decision-making, sustainable asset investment and optimal outcomes for Council.

About you

The successful candidate is someone who:

5+ years of relevant asset management experience developing and implementing asset management strategies, plans, policies, systems, and processes.
2+ years leading an asset strategy team in a state or local government environment with multi-billion dollars of assets.
Extensive experience and understanding of ISO 55000 Asset Management Standards.
Demonstrated experience and ability to implement NAMS and IIMM guidelines for asset management planning and requirements of OLG Integrated Planning & Reporting Framework.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the essential requirements in the Position Description, including:

Qualifications/Licences:

Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil), with 5 years relevant experience in local government experience, eligible for Corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia accompanied with an advanced level of financial acumen and prior accounting experience.

Bachelor of Accounting or Commerce with 5 years relevant experience in local government experience, with membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accounts being an advantage.
