Experienced Dental Receptionist / Practice Coordinator

We are a well-established, patient-focused dental practice looking for a highly organised, reliable and confident Senior Dental Receptionist / Practice Coordinator to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong dental experience who enjoys taking responsibility and would like to develop into a Practice Manager role over time.
About the role
You will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and will work closely with the principal dentist and the clinical team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the front desk and providing exceptional patient service
- Managing appointments, recalls, treatment bookings and cancellations
- Handling patient enquiries by phone, email and in person
- Coordinating the daily appointment book and supporting efficient practice flow
- Processing payments, private health claims and patient accounts
- Following up treatment plans and outstanding accounts
- Supporting the dental team with day-to-day administrative needs
- Assisting with staff coordination and rostering
- Helping maintain high standards of practice organisation and administration
- Handling patient concerns professionally and confidently
- Taking initiative to identify and improve practice systems and processes
- Supporting the Principal Dentist with administrative and operational tasks
- Potentially taking on additional practice management responsibilities as your experience and capability grow
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous dental reception experience is essential
- Ideally 1+ years' experience in a dental practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
- A professional, warm and confident manner with patients
- Strong attention to detail
- Good computer skills and the ability to learn practice management software quickly
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- A proactive attitude and willingness to improve systems
- The maturity and confidence to handle challenging situations professionally
- Experience with dental practice management software, private health insurance and HICAPS
Experience in a senior dental receptionist, treatment coordinator, team leader or practice coordinator role will be highly regarded.
