We are looking for an Associate Legal Counsel to support our growing organisation by providing practical, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters. Working closely with our General Counsel, you will play a key role in contract negotiations, corporate governance, compliance, dispute resolution, and legal operations while helping the business move forward with confidence.

What you'll be doing

Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including MSAs, SOWs, supplier agreements, contractor agreements and NDAs
Partner with Sales, Procurement, Delivery and Operations teams to provide practical legal advice and support commercial outcomes
Support corporate governance, compliance initiatives, policies and business-wide legal matters
Assist with legal risk management, dispute resolution and engagement with external legal advisers
Help maintain legal templates, playbooks, processes and knowledge resources to improve efficiency and scalability
Provide guidance on privacy, data protection, technology procurement and regulatory obligations
Work closely with the General Counsel on strategic business initiatives and legal projects

Requirements

Admission to practise law in Australia

Minimum 2+ years post-qualification experience in commercial, corporate or technology-focused legal practice
Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Strong ability to balance legal risk with commercial outcomes
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
High integrity, sound judgement and a collaborative working style

Highly desirable:

Previous in-house legal experience
Exposure to technology, cybersecurity, managed services, SaaS or reseller environments
Experience supporting privacy, data protection or compliance initiatives
Exposure to corporate governance, legal operations or dispute resolution matters
