Full Job Description

The Bung Yarnda Ranger Program is managed by Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust. The goal is effective and culturally appropriate management of the Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust land . The Trust regards the successful operation of the Bung Yarnda Ranger Program as essential for the future well-being of the Lake Tyers community. The Trust is seeking a suitably experienced and skilled person to fill the position of Ranger Coordinator to manage and implement the Bung Yarnda Ranger Program. This position is responsible for supervising a team of up to 8 Senior Rangers and Rangers in the management and implementation of the work program.

Plan, supervise and assist the Bung Yarnda rangers to carry out various tasks related to cultural and natural resource management initiated by Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust. Manage operational budgets and purchasing. Monitor progress, reporting, awareness-raising and fundraising activities. This includes the preparation, implementation and monitoring of plans that relate to issues such as the management of cultural and natural resources, sea country, lake and wetlands. Specifically, this involves managing the ranger team, working with other staff and Traditional Owners in the recording of traditional knowledge and culturally important sites, and coordinating activities with other members of staff and Traditional Owners. Developing plans and implementing cultural site, fire, erosion, pest animal and plants, and management and monitoring the success of these activities.
