Purpose
Identify and manage biosecurity risks within the Carrathool Shire through property inspections, community education, and enforcement of compliance with relevant legislation. Control high-risk weeds using appropriate measures, monitor and address breaches of Council policies and legislation, and provide regulatory services in areas such as litter, companion animals, parking, noise, and clean air control. Support the rural economy and environment by promoting best practices in biosecurity and ensuring effective compliance management.

Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to apply strategies for negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Competent in animal handling of dogs, cats, and livestock.
- Working ability to produce documents and access and maintain computer data.
- Knowledge and understanding of Local Government, Companion Animals, Biosecurity, and Work Health and Safety Acts and Regulations specific to the work area.
- Ability to apply and use chemical and mechanical control of weeds safely and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work unsupervised.
- AQF III Chemical Accreditation.
- Class C drivers’ licence.
Desirable Requirements
- Statement of Attainment in Microchip Implementation.
- Experience with issuing Penalty Infringement Notices and orders.
- AQF IV Chemical Risk Management.
