The opportunity

We are in the market for an experienced and qualified professional Town Planner who is passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge.

The Senior Town Planner role forms an integral part of a busy team working in a growing City. With the support of Coordinator, you will be responsible for the assessment of complex applications for development approval, preparing Responsible Authority Reports for the Development Assessment Panel, Local Development Plans, represent the City at the State Administrative Tribunal and providing feedback on subdivision proposals, providing Planning advice to key stakeholders including the community.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia
Hold a current unrestricted “C-A” (Automatic) or “C-B” (Manual) class national drivers licence
Minimum of 5 years’ experience undertaking a similar role
Comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian planning system
Comprehensive understanding of City of Mandurah’s local planning framework
Interpretation and application of planning processes within Local Authorities
Demonstrate knowledge of environmental matters and legislation
Demonstrate an understanding of the concept of sustainability
