EXPERIENCED CAFÉ COOKS / CHEF DE PARTIE

Multiple Positions - Alkalizer Eatery, Campbelltown

Alkalizer Eatery is currently experiencing a strong phase of growth and expansion, and we are building additional depth into our kitchen team to support increasing café and catering demand.

As part of this expansion, we have multiple positions available for genuinely experienced Café Cooks / Chef de Partie-level kitchen professionals across a number of stations.

These are not entry-level positions. We are looking for people with proven commercial kitchen experience who can step into a busy breakfast and lunch operation, take ownership of their section and contribute from day one.

Successful applicants will be trained in Alkalizer's menu, recipes, presentation standards, service flow and in-house systems. The role assumes that you already possess the core commercial cooking skills required to work safely, efficiently and independently in a professional kitchen.

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You must have solid, hands-on experience in a commercial café, restaurant or high-volume breakfast/lunch kitchen. We are expanding across several areas of the kitchen, including:

Breakfast station Grill Fryer Hot section Food preparation / mise en place Pass / service coordination Catering preparation and production

You do not need to specialise in every station. If you are genuinely strong in one or two sections, we want to hear from you. Applicants who can confidently operate across multiple stations will naturally be highly regarded.

We are looking for the competence, discipline and reliability expected of someone operating at approximately Chef de Partie level.

NON-NEGOTIABLES

Genuine commercial café or restaurant kitchen experience Ability to independently run at least one busy service station - breakfast, grill, fryer, hot section or equivalent Experience working through high-volume service under pressure Strong mise en place, food handling and kitchen hygiene standards Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to maintain speed, consistency, portion control and presentation during service Ability to communicate well, work as part of a team and take direction when required Appropriate Australian working rights Availability that genuinely matches the position applied for

YOU SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE WITH

Managing multiple orders during peak periods Strong timing and ticket management Preparing and maintaining your own section Working independently without constant supervision Supporting other sections when service demands it Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe workstation

These positions are not suitable for applicants whose experience is primarily home cooking, limited kitchen-hand work, fast food with little actual cooking responsibility, front-of-house work with occasional kitchen duties, short work-experience placements, or culinary study without substantial commercial service experience.

We respect people entering the industry, but these particular vacancies require experienced commercial kitchen operators.
