About the Role

As a part of our business growth journey, Western Sydney remains a continued and ongoing opportunity focus. Following market feedback, Decmil are seeking a Construction Manager to lead our team. In this role you will work closely with the team to drive standards and support our people.

Responsibilities

Ensure appropriate operational, functional and management control processes are in place to achieve project objectives
Lead and guide the project team to complete assigned projects in accordance with the contractual documentation, company standards and procedures, including supervising and scheduling project activities
Control project programming, cost control, quality control, procurement, contracts administration, supervision, general site administration and the activities of sub-contractors
Develop and review construction planning and monitor the progress of allocated projects to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates
V alue and manage variations, liaising with clients, contract administrators and other relevant parties
Ensure optimum cost, availability and quality of sub-contractors and suppliers compliant in HSE, environmental, quality and employee relations deliverables
Ensure all ongoing resource needs are forecasted in a timely manner and linked to project delivery outcomes
Review the weekly/ monthly status of the programme and manage, lead, and drive the team to ensure activities are completed on time and efficiently
Implement, monitor, and enforce the use of company procedures and controls such as Site Diary, DAMS, etc
Continually monitor the workload and progress of team members to ensure the most effective use of resources and to determine any changes required in resources to achieve objectives
Maintain and ensure all work is of a high standard and compliant with quality control frameworks

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor of Engineering or similar Degree qualifications e.g. Project Management or Commercial
Degree in Engineering/Construction or equivalent
Minimum 10+ years construction experience in a similar
Cert IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent
Proven financial, risk, commercial, contractual, and human resource management skills
Strong proven qualities of leadership, integrity, loyalty, and performance management
Proven performance on successful projects exceeding the value of $50M+
Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of HSE principles
Sound and proven ability and knowledge in Construction and Project Execution
Demonstrated safe delivery of working and commitment to ongoing safety improvement
Ability to manage and lead a team to achieve high-performance levels through effective performance management
Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust, set standards and make clear decisions
Strong planning, problem-solving and stakeholder skills
Commitment to safe, high-quality delivery

Role Details

Location: Western Sydney
Roster: Monday- Saturday
I nitial Project Duration: 15 Months
