COMMIS CHEF – Pool Terrace Restaurant

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and passionate Commis Chef to join the team at Pool Terrace Restaurant, our busy, guest-favourite restaurant located along scenic Serving premium amazing food to both guests and island restaurants, this is your opportunity to live and work in paradise while doing what you love.

Your Role

As a Commis Chef at Pool Terrace Resturant, you'll work both individually and as a member of a cohesive team to provide consistently high standards of food quality and production, whilst adhering to Hamilton Island Resort's product standards and specifications.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

Prepare and bake high-quality bread, pastry, and baked goods from scratch.
Support daily high-volume production for both retail and restaurant service.
Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene protocols.
Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet production schedules and daily targets.

What We’re Looking For

You’re a passionate Commis chef who takes pride in your craft and works well in a fast-paced team environment. You’re reliable, efficient, and dedicated to consistently producing quality food

To Be Successful, You Will Need:

Trade certificate in Retail/Baking combined or in patisserie through TAFE, or equivalent (Essential)
Minimum one year experience as a Commis chef in an international hotel, restaurant, or reputable commercial kitchen (Essential)
Through knowledge and experience of volume production (Desirable)
International experience (Desirable)
