As a Plumber & Gas Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing plumbing, gas, water and sewerage infrastructure across Hamilton Island. From guest accommodation and resort facilities to essential water and sewerage services, you'll ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards, helping deliver reliable services and an exceptional guest experience.

Interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing, gas, water and sewerage systems and the materials required.

Install, commission, maintain and repair hot and cold water services, sanitary plumbing, drainage, gas systems, fire protection systems, water mains, sewer mains and associated infrastructure.

Carry out maintenance and repairs to water, sewerage and gas infrastructure, including water and sewerage treatment plants, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Install new water, sewerage and gas services to and from buildings and infrastructure as required.

Respond promptly to urgent plumbing and gas repairs, including guest-related maintenance issues, to minimise disruption and maintain guest satisfaction.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, HIE policies and quality standards.

Maintain and secure all tools, equipment and allocated vehicles, ensuring they remain clean, safe and serviceable.

Accurately complete maintenance records, including labour, materials and work completed.

Work collaboratively with other trades and departments, providing assistance as required.

Perform other duties within the scope of the role as directed by the Services Manager or HIE Management.
You’re a trade qualified Plumber Gas fitter who thrives in a collaborative team environment and takes pride in delivering high quality, safe and efficient work. With strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, you can confidently maintain and install plumbing and gas systems. Queensland Trade Licence – Plumber (or ability to convert to QLD from interstate)

Queensland open Gas Licence Type A (or ability to convert to QLD from interstate)

Ability to be approved for and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
