About the role
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join Ward 4 South within Surgical Services. Ward 4 South provides specialist pre and post-operative care for patients undergoing Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology and Endocrinology procedures.
Working across a range of admission pathways, including elective surgery, Emergency Department, ICU, RMH@Home and inter-hospital transfers, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients with varied and complex needs. You will collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager, Associate Nurse Unit Managers and multidisciplinary team to support safe care delivery, clinical excellence and a positive team culture.
Key Accountabilities
Deliver safe, effective and person-centred nursing care in accordance with RMH policies, procedures and professional standards.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients across the surgical journey.
Provide high-quality pre and post-operative care to patients across Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology and Endocrinology specialties.
Collaborate with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to support positive health outcomes and effective discharge planning.
Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive environment aligned with the values of The Melbourne Way.
About You
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA/NMBA
Minimum 3 years of acute nursing experience
Strong clinical assessment, reasoning and prioritisation skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of professional conduct
Commitment to The Melbourne Way: people first, leading with kindness, excellence together
Desirable
Surgical nursing experience
Experience in Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology or Endocrinology
