Company Description
Greencross Cleveland is looking for a Veterinary Director to lead a well-established clinic in one of Brisbane’s most relaxed bayside communities.
This role would suit an experienced Veterinary Director, or a confident Senior/Associate Veterinarian who is ready to take the next step into clinical leadership with the right support around them.
You will be joining a clinic with experienced vets, a capable nursing team, a supportive Practice Manager, and a loyal client base who genuinely want the best for their pets. The clinic is co-located with Petbarn, creating a strong local presence and steady connection with pet owners in the Cleveland community.
Cleveland offers the kind of lifestyle that is hard to ignore. You are close to the water, cafes, coastal walks, and the ferry to North Stradbroke Island, while still being within easy reach of Brisbane.
Job Description
As Veterinary Director, you will have the opportunity to shape the clinical direction of the clinic while continuing to do the veterinary work you enjoy.
This is not a role where you are expected to have every answer from day one. You will be supported by an experienced Regional Clinical Director, a wider network of Veterinary Directors across Greencross, and structured continuing education to help you grow as a clinical leader.
In this role, you will:
-
Lead and support the veterinary team in day-to-day clinical standards and decision-making
-
Mentor vets and nurses, helping build confidence, capability and consistency across the clinic
-
Work closely with the Practice Manager to support clinic culture, workflow and team engagement
-
Deliver high-quality consults, routine surgery and patient care
-
Build strong relationships with clients and support them through clear, thoughtful communication
-
Contribute to the continued growth and reputation of Greencross Cleveland
-
Be part of a wider leadership network where you can share ideas, ask questions and learn from others in similar roles
What We Offer
At Greencross, we want leadership to feel supported, not isolating. You will have access to:
-
Four weeks of annual leave, plus option to convert your continuing education leave to annual leave, which will be five weeks altogether.
-
Paid Parental Leave is 6 weeks full pay (or 12 weeks half pay), with flexible return-to-work programs
-
Lincoln Institute’s Leading Edge for Veterinarians program, a 12-month online leadership course valued at $9,000 and fully funded by us. It is CPD-accredited and covers communication, time management, resilience, leadership and more.
-
An industry-leading internal CE program, including all-inclusive attendance at Australia’s largest annual veterinary clinical conference
-
Scholarship options for Membership examinations
-
Paid AVA membership or annual veterinary registration
-
Discounts across Greencross Vets, the Animal Referral and Emergency Network and Petbarn nationwide
-
Confidential counselling available 24/7 through Telus
Qualifications
We are looking for a veterinarian who is confident in general practice and enjoys working with people as much as patients.
You may already be in a leadership role, or you may be an experienced vet ready to step into one. Either way, you will bring:
-
A BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
-
Registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland
-
Strong general practice experience
-
Confidence in routine consults and surgery
-
A collaborative approach to leadership
-
Genuine interest in mentoring and supporting others
-
A client-focused communication style
Additional Information
If you are ready for a leadership role where you can grow with support, contribute to a strong clinic, and enjoy the bayside lifestyle that Cleveland has to offer, we would love to hear from you.
