What you'll do:
Team Leadership & Supervision
Lead supervise and support a team of Mentors (pro-rata FTE) to deliver high-quality services by:
- Leading by example, setting clear expectations for behaviour, performance, and professionalism in alignment with Good Sammy values and policies.
- Ensuring new mentors complete a thorough induction, including participation in buddy shifts for a structured onboarding experience.
- Providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members, fostering skill development and best practices in supporting participants to achieve their employment goals.
- Addressing staff concerns proactively and escalating issues to the Employment Services Manager when necessary.
- Delivering timely and constructive feedback, using both formal and informal methods to support continuous learning and professional growth.
- Encouraging a positive, confident, and resilient team culture, particularly in challenging situations.
- Ensuring probation and annual performance reviews are completed on time.
- Conducting Monthly supervision sessions with mentors to provide support and monitor progress.
- Assisting staff selection, training, motivation, and evaluation to build a strong and effective team.
- Ensure team KPIs and program deliverables are consistently met in alignment with the organisation's strategic and operational plan.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance within the team.
- Promote clear, effective, and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the scheduling team to ensure adequate support coverage during holidays and absences, maintaining seamless service delivery.
Service Delivery
Ensure participants receive individualised and tailored employment supports that align with their goals by ensuring employment supports are goal-oriented, person-centred, and adaptable to meet individual needs by:
- Monitoring participant progress and adjust support strategies to facilitate sustainable employment outcomes.
- Engaging with families, support networks, and other professionals, both informally and through formal quarterly progress meetings.
- Proactively arranging and leading Multi Service Meetings to reassess and adjust support strategies as needed.
- Attending stakeholder and interagency meetings to strengthen collaboration and ensure holistic support.
- Collaborate with Employment Development Manager and Employment Development Consultants to ensure participants have coordinated and complementary support.
- Attend and actively contribute to internal and external meetings to ensure effective service coordination, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement.
- Provide occasional on-site support coverage as required to maintain service continuity and participant engagement.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all service delivery aligns with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, NDIS Practice Standards, and Good Sammy’s policies to maintain high standards of care and compliance.
- Proactively seek feedback from participants and their support networks, addressing concerns and resolving complaints promptly to enhance service quality and participant satisfaction.
- Complete Progress Reports and providing them to participants, support coordinators, and the NDIA at least 8 weeks before the NDIS plan expires.
- Submit end-of-program reports within 6 weeks of support services concluding.
- Regularly updating participant’s support networks on progress and key developments.
- Conduct weekly audits of support notes to ensure accurate documentation of support services.
- Submit all necessary information for service agreements to the administration team in a timely manner.
- Audit caseloads to ensure service agreements remain current and do not expire.
- Maintain accurate and accessible participant plans and funding documentation to support efficient reporting and service delivery.
- Ensure all participant records and service information are accurately recorded and regularly updated in the Customer Management System, following organisational policies and NDIS requirements.
- Document all participant interactions and key service-related conversations to ensure compliance with record-keeping standards and support continuity of care.
General
- Comply with the terms of the Good Sammys employment contract, as well as any and legislative requirements and workplace policies and procedures established by Good Sammy’s, such as work health and safety policies, Code of Conduct, confidentiality agreements, and antidiscrimination policies.
- Participate in professional development and training as required.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications skills & Experience
- Certificate III or IV, Diploma, or Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Individual Support (Disability), Community Services, Employment Services, Career Development), or at least two (2) years' experience in the disability sector.
- Current Western Australian Driver's Licence with own vehicle and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
- Current Working with Children Check or proof of application being lodged (receipt).
- Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS environment, including a strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in staff supervision and leadership, with the ability to manage teams and drive accountability.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and work proactively.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all professional interactions.
- Comprehensive understanding of NDIS compliance requirements and the ability to maintain professional boundaries when engaging with participants and their families/carers.
- Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with a diverse range of key stakeholders.
