What You'll Be Doing

As Sous Chef, you'll play a key leadership role within the kitchen, working alongside the Head Chef to deliver exceptional food, develop your team and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen. You'll lead by example during service and help drive a culture of excellence, consistency and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Head Chef in the daily management of a busy premium kitchen.
Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing team of chefs and apprentices.
Delivering consistently exceptional food quality, presentation and execution.
Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
Assisting with ordering, stock control, inventory management and minimising waste.
Managing labour efficiently while maintaining service excellence.
Contributing to menu development, seasonal offerings and continuous culinary innovation.
Ensuring recipes, portion control and kitchen standards are consistently followed.
Leading kitchen operations and service in the Head Chef's absence.
Fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performance kitchen culture.

About You

We're looking for an experienced culinary leader who thrives in premium dining environments.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to take the next step within a premium restaurant.
A background in award-winning restaurants, hatted venues or Michelin-star (or equivalent) dining environments.
A genuine passion for exceptional food, quality ingredients and outstanding execution.
You're a genuinely hands-on leader who leads from the pass and works alongside the team every service. You thrive in a fast-paced kitchen and lead through action, coaching and example.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to perform under pressure during high-volume service.
Experience managing food costs, stock control and labour efficiency.
A commitment to developing and mentoring the next generation of chefs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house and venue leadership.
