WIRTGEN AUSTRALIA seeks a Field Service Technician - Electrical Specialist to join our Service team in WA. This position will work across all Wirtgen Group brands with the role requiring flexibility with the ability to work autonomously. A self motivated and driven individual would be highly regarded. This role is based at our premises in South Guildford, WA.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and control systems on Wirtgen Group machinery
- Preparation of new machine build requirements including electrical and control system installation activities
- Commissioning and training of Wirtgen Group machinery including verification of electrical, automation and machine control functions
- Diagnose electrical, electronic and machine control system issues or customer complaints and assist in finding technical solutions
- Conduct machine inspections, testing and technical assessments and develop a scope of repairs as required.
- Perform testing, calibration and verification of electrical systems, instrumentation, sensors and machine control systems to ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements
- Collect and analyse operational and diagnostic data to identify faults, evaluate equipment performance and recommend corrective actions
- Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, wiring diagrams and engineering documentation
- Servicing, maintenance, and repair of Wirtgen Group machinery
- Liaise with the regional Service Manager to update on job progress and completion times
- Report any job issues or areas of concern to the regional Service Manager
- Only operate plant and mobile equipment within the limits of competence training and verification
- Provide a professional customer service and always care attitude
- Complete accurate and timely administrative tasks in relation to service activities, including but not limited to submitting job sheets, timesheets and credit card statements
- Utilise and maintain workshop tooling in accordance with working specifications and conditions
- Maintain a safe working environment in both the workshop and field service vehicles with an acceptable level of housekeeping
Qualifications and Experience
A strong mechanical background and aptitude, deep knowledge and experience within crushing and screening applications (with a minimum of 5 years’ experience).
- Australian/New Zealand recognised trade qualification (Electrotechnology Electrician/Electrical Engineering Level 4)
- Basic computer skills with ability to operate Outlook and in house service programmes
- Must be able to work under pressure and to a deadline in some situations
- Clear problem solver, proven ability to apply logic or reasoning to review information, identify problems, their causes, evaluate options and select the best solution
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, including high attention to detail
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Must be able to communicate well with co-workers and customers
- Electrical workers licence in the applicable location of employment
- Proven experience within an Electrical Engineering Technician, Field Service Technician or similar technical role for a minimum of 2 years
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, instrumentation and machine control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, engineering documentation and wiring diagrams
- Experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and fault finding of electrical and electronic equipment
- Unencumbered Drivers Licence
The ideal candidate will also need to complete and pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing and obtain a police clearance.
