Permanent Positions – Immediate Commencement
St Luke’s Anglican School is seeking passionate and dedicated educators to join our Early Learning Centre team in
the following positions:

OSHC Coordinator - Part-time, all year (1.30 pm – 6.00 pm Monday to Friday)
OSHC Educators - Part-time, all year (Hours Vary)
Educators (Diploma, Certificate III or Working Towards) - Part-time, all year (Hours vary)

These positions offer the opportunity to contribute to high-quality early childhood and school-age education
programs that reflect the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and My Time, Our Place Frameworks.

Selection Criteria
SC1 Professional Knowledge and Practice: Demonstrated understanding of early childhood and/or school-age

learning frameworks (EYLF, QKLG, MTOP) and ability to design, implement, and evaluate high-quality
educational programs that respond to children’s needs and interests

SC2 Relationships and Communication: Proven ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children,

families, colleagues, and the wider community, fostering collaboration and open communication

SC3 Commitment to Child Safety and Quality Improvement: Demonstrated understanding of child protection

principles, compliance with the National Quality Framework and associated legislation, and a proactive
approach to continuous improvement in educational and care practices.

OSHC Coordinator - Early Learning Centre
Position Summary
The OSHC Coordinator is responsible for the effective daily management and operation of the St Luke’s
Anglican School Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care programs. The role ensures the
delivery of safe, inclusive, and engaging educational programs that align with the ‘My Time, Our Place
Framework’ and meet all requirements under the Education and Care Services National Law and National
Regulations.

Reporting to the Director/Nominated Supervisor, the OSHC Coordinator provides leadership and direction to the
OSHC team, ensuring that all policies, procedures, and legislative obligations are implemented effectively. The
Coordinator promotes a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-quality care for all children
attending the program.

The OSHC Coordinator works in partnership with the Educational Leader, Director/Nominated Supervisor, and
the wider School community to ensure that the service operates efficiently, remains financially sustainable, and
upholds the School’s values of Faith, Performance, and Honour.

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities may be modified occasionally to ensure the expected outcomes are coordinated with the
School’s Strategic Plan. Without limiting the above, the key responsibilities and duties shall include:

Leadership and Service Management

Oversee the daily operations of the OSHC and Vacation Care services, ensuring compliance with all

relevant legislation, regulations, and School policies

Provide effective leadership, supervision, and mentoring to OSHC staff, fostering a collaborative and

professional team culture

Maintain accurate staff rosters to ensure appropriate educator-to-child ratios at all times
Support the Director/Nominated Supervisor in monitoring service budgets and expenditure, ensuring

efficient and responsible use of resources

Lead the ongoing development and review of OSHC policies, procedures, and practices to reflect current

legislation, quality standards, and School expectations

Maintain clear and timely communication with the Director/Nominated Supervisor regarding operational

matters, incidents, and compliance updates

Ensure all required notifications to regulatory authorities are completed accurately and within legislative

timeframes.

Curriculum and Educational Practice

Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of play-based, child-centred programs consistent with

the ‘My Time, Our Place Framework’

Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader to ensure curriculum decisions and pedagogical

practices reflect the developmental needs, interests, and experiences of each child

Support educators to document learning and wellbeing outcomes that demonstrate each child’s growth

and participation in the program

Foster an environment where children’s voices, agency, and choices are valued and reflected in daily

experiences

Ensure programs include culturally responsive, inclusive, and sustainable practices that promote respect

for diversity and belonging

Support staff to provide for the individual needs of all children, including those requiring additional

support.

Compliance, Safety, and Quality Improvement

Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations, National

Quality Standards, and St Luke’s policies at all times

Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of the service’s Quality Improvement Plan

(QIP) in relation to OSHC and Vacation Care contributions and practice

Oversee supervision practices, ensuring all children are adequately supervised at all times and that

supervision plans are followed

Ensure the environment, equipment, and materials are safe, maintained, and appropriate for the ages

and abilities of children.

Relationships and Community Engagement

Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and the wider School

community

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s participation, well-being, and learning

experiences in OSHC and Vacation Care

Promote family engagement by seeking regular feedback and incorporating family input into program

planning and service improvements

Manage enrolments and attendance records accurately, ensuring all family and child details are current

and compliant with funding and reporting requirements

Represent the OSHC service professionally within the School and the broader community, upholding St

Luke’s reputation for quality care and education.

Administration and Financial Management

Maintain secure and confidential management of child, family, and staff records
Prepare reports and documentation for the Director/Nominated Supervisor and School Leadership as

required

Support the preparation of service budgets and monitor expenditure against approved financial

parameters.

Leader is expected to model and promote child-safe practices, comply with all relevant legislation and policies,
and respond to any concerns, disclosures, allegations, or suspicions of harm in accordance with the School’s

Education / Professional Qualifications
Essential

Diploma or higher qualification in School Age Education and Care or equivalent (approved under NQF)

Current Working with Children Check ‘Blue Card’ or exemption notice
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates.

Desirable

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and/or equivalent, or working towards
Additional qualifications in mentoring, leadership, or education support.

Skills and Experience

colleagues and external professionals

Well organised, reliable, with the capacity to manage time and resources
Strong understanding of MTOP, NQS, and QIP processes

Maintaining full compliance with all OSHC legislative and regulatory requirements
Balancing operational, administrative, and pedagogical responsibilities in a dynamic environment
Leading a team across varying shifts and availability to maintain consistency and high-quality service

delivery

Managing the needs of children across multiple age groups and ensuring inclusive, engaging programs.

Physical Capabilities

Frequent movement between indoor and outdoor environments to supervise and engage with children
Participation in play-based and recreational activities involving bending, lifting, and sitting on the floor
Setting up and packing away play and activity equipment safely
Physical ability to respond promptly and effectively in emergencies, including evacuations.

Effective working relationships with the Principal and the Executive Team
Internal and external liaison with all staff, students/children, parents and various other stakeholders

such as external providers.
