Required: Available to work Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 pm – 7:00 am.
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Butcher to join our production team. This role is based in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and is suited to someone with butchering experience or solid knife-handling skills. The role involves slicing large amounts of meats (with knives and machines) and helping the hot pot department as needed.
As a Butcher in our production facility, you will be primarily responsible for processing and preparing red meats in bulk (pork, beef, lamb to name few) to meet supply and operational demands. You’ll be working in a team environment focused on production output, consistency, and hygiene compliance based on customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, cutting, trimming, and boning various red meats in line with production requirements. Also using Meat Process / Cutting Machines.
- Performing bulk slicing, portioning, and packing of meat products.
- Handling and operating knives and cutting tools safely and efficiently.
- Conducting value-adding tasks (e.g. crumbing, marinating) when required.
- Weighing, labelling, and preparing meat for packaging and distribution.
- Following strict hygiene and food safety protocols at all times.
- Ensuring a clean and safe workstation and contributing to team productivity.
- Collaborating with supervisors and team members to meet daily targets.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in meat processing or knife-handling (butchery experience needed).
- Ability to work in chilly and physically demanding environments.
- Strong awareness of food safety and workplace hygiene standards.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Flexible and willing to work early mornings and/or overnight shifts.
- Must be able to follow instructions, work efficiently, and meet time-based targets.
Qualifications:
- Certificate II or III in Meat Processing
- Understanding of HACCP procedures in a food production environment

Pay: $54,175.04 – $93,972.67 per year
