About the opportunity
As Duty Manager – PM, you will lead safe, efficient and compliant PM operations within the StarTrack Road Express facility at Tullamarine, supporting the movement of freight across the network and ensuring service delivery standards are achieved. Reporting to the Metro Manager Melbourne, you will work closely with Supervisors, Team Leaders, facility teams and broader network stakeholders to drive performance, improve efficiency and maintain a strong safety and customer-first culture.
The shift time for this role is PM shift, 2:30pm – 10:30pm (Monday to Friday).
You’ll also
- Drive network efficiency by improving vehicle and trailer utilisation, managing costs and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Monitor and report on operational performance including DIFOT, scanning compliance, meeting critical trailer departure times, overtime and labour hire agency costs.
Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Team Leaders, internal stakeholders and external partners to support strong operational outcomes.

You are a strong operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment and knows how to bring teams together to deliver safe, reliable and commercially sound outcomes. You lead with accountability, communicate clearly, build trusted relationships and are confident driving change while keeping safety, service and people at the centre of decision-making.
You’ll also
- Bring strong experience in operational management, ideally within transport, logistics, parcel, fleet, aviation, rail or facility environments.
- Have a thorough understanding of Chain of Responsibility, safety, compliance and operational risk in a transport environment.
- Be confident analysing operational and financial performance data to support decision-making, cost control and service improvement.
