About the Role
At Alcoa, technology plays a critical role in enabling safe, efficient and sustainable operations across our global refineries. We are seeking an experienced Senior Operational Technology (OT) Specialist to provide technical leadership and specialist expertise across process control systems, industrial networks and OT infrastructure that support our manufacturing operations.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of operational technology, cybersecurity and industrial networking, helping to ensure the reliability, security and performance of critical refinery systems. You will partner with operational, engineering and technology teams to support and continuously improve our OT environment, while contributing to the delivery of global standards, modern technologies and best-practice cybersecurity controls.
In this role, you will:
Manage and support critical OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the availability, reliability and performance of refinery process control environments and industrial networks.
Administer OT Active Directory and access management services, including identity management, role-based access controls, security groups and privileged account governance.
Design, implement and maintain secure industrial network architectures, including switches, firewalls, routers, wireless networks and segmented OT environments aligned with cybersecurity standards.
Provide advanced technical support and leadership, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, disaster recovery planning, system optimisation across OT and infrastructure teams.
Partner with stakeholders and project teams to deliver OT infrastructure initiatives, provide technical expertise, and support design, commissioning, governance and continuous improvement activities.
Ensure the day-to-day availability, reliability, and maintenance of OT infrastructure across site environments and network infrastructure; primarily across Honeywell process control environments.
Ensure compliance with security architecture, network segmentation standards, system audits and corporate cybersecurity requirements.

What you can bring to the role
Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with industry certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft or VMware highly regarded.
Extensive experience supporting Operational Technology environments within manufacturing, industrial or process control operations.
Strong expertise in Active Directory administration, identity and access management, and OT cybersecurity principles.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting industrial networks, including switching, routing, firewalls and network segmentation.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimise complex OT infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid environments, with exposure to Honeywell control systems highly desirable.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, inclusion and collaboration, with the ability to build positive working relationships, foster diverse perspectives and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented workplace culture.
The role will be based between our Perth office and the Honeywell Alliance office in Rivervale, with secure on-site parking available at the Rivervale location. Occasional travel to local operational sites will be required, along with the flexibility to collaborate with global teams across different time zones as needed.
