We are currently seeking passionate, reliable and experienced Community Support Workers to join our growing team for an immediate start.

About the Role

As a Community Support Worker with Kapital Care, you will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and participation in the community.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing personal care and daily living support
Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals
Community access and social participation
Supporting participants with appointments, shopping and other activities
Providing emotional and practical support
Supporting people living with disability, mental health and complex support needs
Following individual support plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures
Maintaining accurate and timely progress notes and documentation
Communicating effectively with participants, families, colleagues and other professionals
Promoting participant choice, dignity, rights and independence
Working as part of a supportive and professional team

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or a related qualification, or be currently working towards a relevant qualification
Current First Aid Certificate
Current Working with Vulnerable People registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, as applicable
Current Police Check
Current Australian driver’s licence
Access to a reliable, registered and appropriately insured vehicle
Appropriate vehicle and/or professional insurance where required
Previous experience working in mental health support – essential
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A commitment to participant safety, dignity and choice

Job Type: Casual

Expected hours: Approximately 25 hours per week, depending on participant and service requirements.

Schedule may include:

Morning shifts
Day shifts

Pay: $34.44 – $45.28per hour, depending on applicable classification, experience and employment conditions.
