Simotas Foods is a growing Australian foodservice distribution business servicing customers across Sydney and regional NSW.

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic Business Development Manager who loves winning new business and turning opportunities into long-term customers.

This is a genuine hunter role. You will be responsible for identifying new markets, finding prospective customers, getting through the door, presenting our offering and converting opportunities into profitable, ongoing accounts. The role will involve selling of wholesale ingredients to multiple outlets; school and P&C-operated canteens, childcare and education, aged care, bakeries, Corporate catering, Hospitals and institutions, Government and community organisations.

You’ll be given the opportunity to develop your own target markets and territory rather than simply managing an existing customer base.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

* Identify and target high-value new customers

* Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline

* Prospect by phone, email, networking and face-to-face visits

* Develop relationships with owners, purchasing managers, P&C committees and decision-makers

* Identify what customers are currently buying and where Simotas Foods can add value

* Prepare proposals and presentations

* Negotiate and close new accounts

* Work with our operations and purchasing teams to ensure new customers are serviced properly

* Grow customer spend after the initial sale

* Develop targeted campaigns for specific customer segments

* Report on pipeline, conversions and sales growth

* Become the face of Simotas Foods in your target markets

THE PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who is commercially hungry and genuinely enjoys winning. Experience in schools and or sales environment is desireable.

You’ll go and find them.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In your first 12 months, your goal will be to:

Build a substantial pipeline → win new customers → grow their spend → create long-term recurring revenue.

We’ll measure success through:

* New accounts won

* New recurring revenue

* Gross profit generated

* Customer retention

* Pipeline value

* Conversion rate

* Growth within newly acquired accounts

Package: Competitive base salary + superannuation + performance-based incentive
