We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our growing construction team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of carpentry and construction activities, including timber framing, installation, repairs, maintenance, and general building work. You will work closely with other trades and team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation.
You must have a Certificate III in Carpentry or a higher-level qualification in carpentry/building, together with at least one year of full-time relevant industry experience.
Main Tasks and Duties Involve:
Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, building plans, specifications, and measurements.
Measuring, marking, cutting, and shaping timber and other building materials.
Constructing and installing timber frames, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, doors, windows, and other structures.
Installing and repairing doors, window frames, skirting boards, architraves, mouldings, and other timber fixtures.
Constructing formwork and temporary structures for concrete and other building works.
Performing carpentry work for residential and commercial construction projects.
Selecting and using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
Ensuring all carpentry work is accurately measured, level, plumb, square, and properly aligned.
Joining and securing timber and other materials using nails, screws, bolts, adhesives, and other appropriate methods.
Carrying out repairs, alterations, renovations, and maintenance of existing structures.
Working with timber, plywood, MDF, particleboard, and other building materials.
Erecting and dismantling restricted-height scaffolding and temporary structures in accordance with WHS requirements.
Inspecting materials and completed work to ensure quality and compliance with plans and specifications.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area at all times.
Coordinating with builders, supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Following workplace health and safety requirements, building regulations, and company procedures.
Identifying construction issues and assisting with practical solutions where required.
Ensuring all work is completed within project timelines and to the required standard.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong carpentry skills, attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.
Successful candidates will be offered an annual salary of $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation.
