About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting daily mine planning activities, collecting and analysing operational data, and contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of underground mining operations. This position offers excellent exposure to mine engineering, operational planning, and cross-functional site disciplines while providing structured professional development and practical underground experience.
Please note: This is a permanent role on an 8/6 Roster FIFO
As a Graduate Mining Engineer, you will:
Assist the Mine Engineering team with day-to-day operational and engineering requirements.
Learn to create development instructions, drill designs, blast plans, and other mining plans under supervision.
Conduct mine inspections to ensure mining activities are executed according to plan.
Complete post-mining reconciliation and performance reviews.
Maintain and update mine planning and production databases.
Support operational reporting and technical analysis activities.
Participate in departmental meetings and assist with follow-up actions.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within engineering processes and procedures.
Gain practical underground mining experience through structured training and development programs.
Work closely with Mining, Geology, Survey, and Processing teams to develop a broad understanding of site operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
A current WA C-Class Driver's Licence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
A proactive attitude toward learning and professional development.
A commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced underground mining environment.
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
