Northern Star Resources currently has an opportunity for a Geotechnical Superintendent – Projects to join the team in our Subiaco Head Office on a Monday to Friday roster. Reporting to the Group Geotechnical Engineer, you will provide geotechnical leadership across project design and delivery.

Here is what awaits you

Lead and endorse geotechnical design, analysis, and verification for major or complex projects
Select, justify, and review technical approaches, assumptions, and analysis methods
Integrate geotechnical inputs with mine planning, construction, operations, schedules, and budgets
Review and improve inputs from consultants, contractors, and vendors
Identify, document, and manage geotechnical uncertainty, limitations, and residual risk
Drive practical, risk‑based solutions and determine when further analysis or redesign is required
Ensure geotechnical work is current, validated, traceable, and proportionately peer‑reviewed
Close the loop between investigation, design, and observed performance, including post‑project reviews
Manage competing project objectives and resources while protecting geotechnical acceptance criteria
Mentor engineers and provide constructive technical challenge to improve decision quality

To thrive in this role, you will need

Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in open pit and underground mining operations and projects, with in‑depth understanding of geotechnical design, and operational execution in complex environments.

Qualifications:
Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (mining, civil, or geological engineering), postgraduate degree in mine geomechanics, coupled with a current Australian C - Class Drivers licence.
