PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Contributes as a member of the reticulation team performing routine operation, maintenance and servicing of water, wastewater and recycled water
reticulation systems across major and minor centres and remote communities in the Northern region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The “WHAT” to be delivered

Functional
• Safely execute all works associated with the operation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of water and wastewater reticulation assets

utilising a range of tools and techniques

Undertake asset condition assessments inspections of the wastewater system utilising CCTV equipment and water leak detection activities.
Capture all information required for work order close out, including all relevant asset information and record in approved system.
Perform duties in a professional manner, utilising skills, knowledge and experience to achieve appropriate outcomes in accordance with Power

and Water policy and procedures including the requirement to enter Confined Spaces and compliance to the Power and Water Self Contained
Breathing Apparatus and associated Facial Hair obligations.

Provide a high level of customer service through direct interaction, fostering positive relationships to represent the obligations of Power and

Water.

Participate as a proactive and valued member of the team to assist achievement of the team’s objectives, rotating through other similar Water

Services roles, both water and sewer, as part of trade technical development.

Participate in an on‑call roster to respond to after‑hours faults.
Provide operational support to other regions across the Northern Territory as needed, including travel to minor centres and remote locations

when required.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualification and Skills Experience

Essential • An AQF Certificate lll in Plumbing or Water Industry • Demonstrated experience in the operation and

Willingness and ability to travel to minor centres and

remote locations as needed, including via light aircraft or
road travel.

Experience operating CCTV sewer inspection equipment
Experience operating sewerage vacuum systems
Demonstrated experience using high pressure water jetting

equipment.

Desirable • Heavy Rigid Truck Driver’s License. • Understands the use of Microsoft office suite of products,

Confined space entry, breathing apparatus and working at record management systems such as Content Manager,

heights training certificates. scheduling and asset maintenance systems such as Maximo
and the use of iPads or other communication technology.

Ground penetration radiator (GPR) experience
Experience using logger and correlators
